Mode of Action	Bispyribac-sodium is a selective systemic herbicide that inhibits the enzyme acetolactate synthase (ALS or AHAS), blocking the biosynthesis of essential branched-chain amino acids (valine, leucine, isoleucine). This disruption halts cell division and plant growth, leading to the death of susceptible weeds. It is absorbed through foliage and roots.
Target	It is highly effective against annual grasses, sedges, and some broadleaf weeds, including barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli), smallflower umbrella sedge (Cyperus difformis), and Monochoria vaginalis. It is especially valued for its post-emergence control of difficult grass weeds in rice paddies.
Crops	Bispyribac-sodium is primarily used in paddy rice (both transplanted and direct-seeded). It is safe to rice when used at recommended doses and is applied post-emergence. Its selectivity and broad-spectrum efficacy make it a widely adopted herbicide in rice-producing regions.
