Description
Amitraz is a widely used insecticide and acaricide, effective against a range of pests, particularly mites, ticks, and some insect species. It works by acting on the central nervous system of pests, specifically by inhibiting the enzyme monoamine oxidase (MAO), which affects neurotransmitter regulation, leading to paralysis and death. Amitraz is commonly used in veterinary medicine for controlling ticks and mites in animals, as well as in agriculture to manage pests like spider mites, aphids, and whiteflies on crops. It is often applied as a foliar spray or used in animal dips.
