Biochemistry	Agonist of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, affecting the synapses in the insect central nervous system.
Mode of action	Mode of action Non-systemic insecticide which penetrates leaf tissues by translaminar movement. Paralyses the lepidoptera, which stop feeding within hours of ingestion, and die 2-4 dat.  Uses For control of Lepidoptera on vegetables, brassicas and cotton, at up to 16 g/ha, and in pine trees, at 5-25 g/ha. Formulation types EC; SG. Indoxacarb act via contact and ingestion. It acts by blocking the sodium channels in nerve cells. It has larvicidal and ovicidal activity. Following application, larvae cease feeding within 3-4 hours and subsequently die. It controls pests resistant to existing insecticides and has a low impact on predatory mites and beneficials, making it suitable for use in IPM schemes and resistance management programmes.
Uses	Controls a range of sucking insects, such as whiteflies, plant bugs, leafhoppers and mealybugs; Coleoptera, such as Colorado Beetles and flea Beetles; Diptera, such as leaf miner flies; and certain Lepidoptera, such as fruit moths, in vegetables, fruit, paddy rice and turf.
